Awkward expressions
Whenever my foreign 학원 teachers had chances to check my essays, their responses were all the same, without any exception.
My essays were embroidered with several red lines that crossed out several 'a's and 'the's and red questions marks with a comment "I can't understand, Doojoon."
I didn't care about this problem that much partly because I didn't feel any necessity to improve those errors and mostly because I thought they were not smart enough to understand my thoughts. -_-;;
However, the situation remained unchanged even after I entered this school.
Mr. Bui or Mr. Baumgardner always wrote "what do you mean by ~~~?" or "sorry, but I don't see what you are saying here."
Some harsh commenters (i can't really say that Mr. W------s was one of them) sharply pointed out that I had used some awkward expressions and had silly word choices.
Korean English teachers did not desperately try to look for this kind of mistakes probably because they had observed broken English of Korean students so many times that they were tired of grappling with those errors.
To the native speakers of English, my expressions, which were forced, unnatural interpretation of Korean expressions, probably seem artificial and awkward.
But I can't actually help myself with that problem. I have never been the U.S. or any other english speaking countries more than 2 weeks. The english novels I have read so far would be less than fifty. (shame on me -_-;;) I was too lazy to read and write every day, and thus have only myself to blame. ^^,snfa;kasdnf;lasfd
I should practice more, and someday my writing will improve............or.......... I don't know.
