Orange candy
On my desk, now I can see that there is a pile of peels of orange candies.
Most of them are publicly smuggled from my homeroom and the rest are from Mr. Kim's office.
I really can't understand why I feel so much intense attachment for orange candies.
Nowadays I can't really have cinnamon, 누룽지, ginseng, strawberry or any other types of candies.
While my classmates normally pick one or two candies, I pick 3 or 4 orange candies at a time.
During class or self-study time, peel one of them and stare at its glaring figure for a while.
I open my mouth, put a candy in it and feel the occult taste of orange.
Though it is neither fresh nor sweet as much as real orange is, I prefer a candy one to a fruit one.
As it touches my tongue, it arouses me from my foggy, hazy state of sleepiness and helps me expel my deathlike languor.
I feel refreshed, recovered, and revitalized by its ineffable, ethereal taste.
Even though the earth should see the end tomorrow, I will have a piece of orange candy, probably.
